Jack Is…

Man with dark hair and beard wearing a beige turtleneck sweater, sitting at a dark wooden table in a dimly lit room, smiling at a dessert with a lit candle on top.

obsessed with food, first and foremost. Like, no really. Jack has visited over 1,500 spots across the five boroughs of New York City. After graduating from Duke University with a degree in Public Policy and spending two years crafting legislation for a state senator in Brooklyn, Jack decided it was time to make his lifelong passion for food into his full-time job. Now, he leads food tours across the city, writes about all things food and beverage, and works at a North America Top 100 cocktail bar.

Tours 𓎩

My Tours Are…

for New Yorkers and tourists alike and show a side of the city’s food scene that you might not find otherwise. I don’t want to offer the 100th variation on the Chelsea Market or Manhattan Chinatown food tour. I won’t be taking you to Magnolia Bakery or Prince Street Pizza. There is flexibility in all of my tours to adjust for allergies, mobility concerns, food preferences, or that random pastry or slice that you heard about that’s a block from our second stop.

Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill Tour

Do food and culture persist when a population is displaced from or relocates from a neighborhood? Do they remain a beacon for connection and community? How does a neighborhood’s cuisine evolve when a community settles there for several generations? This tour traces the food and history of Swedish, Arabic, and Italian culture in two neighborhoods that have changed dramatically over the past two centuries.

Sunset Park Tour

When most people think of Chinatown in New York, they think Downtown Manhattan or Flushing. But, did you know that New York City has nine Chinatowns? Sunset Park’s Chinatown centered along 8th Avenue is one of the largest and has one of the city’s most vibrant communities of Fujianese residents.

The World’s Borough World Tour

Queens is often referred to as the “World’s Borough.” This tour puts that moniker to the test. We will try food from each of the six inhabited continents, concluding in Jackson Heights, a neighborhood where over 160 languages are spoken.

BYOT (Build Your Own Tour)

This tour is…whatever you want it to be. Is there a cuisine you’ve never tried or want to learn more about? A neighborhood you’ve been meaning to check out? I’ll design a tour that works for your needs and price it out accordingly.

  • "Our Brooklyn food tour with Jack was absolutely exceptional. His deep historical knowledge of Brooklyn and its diverse food culture brought the city to life, and he introduced us to hidden gems we never would have found on our own. Even as a serious foodie with investments in several top NYC restaurants, I learned a ton and left inspired. I can’t wait to book another tour with him—an unforgettable experience from start to finish!"

  • "When I had my tour with Jack, I was doing a gluten challenge to finally see if I had Celiac or not after two years of eating gluten-free. Jack, knowing that it very well may be my last time ever eating gluten, took me on the ultimate tour of the best gluten-full dishes in the five boroughs. We had pizza, dumplings, noodles, cake and more. Now, he's my #1 go to for incredible culinary experiences all around the city!"

    -Delaney O.

  • “Jack is my go-to guy for restaurant recommendations. When I’m heading to NYC, before I even tell friends or family that I’ll be in town, I’m reaching out to Jack to find out where I should eat and what I should be doing between meals. His expertise goes far beyond restaurants; he curates entire days, start to finish.”
